Opening the Gifts of Christmas: Practicing the Angelic Gifts of Faith, Hope, Charity, and Love

This story is about our nephew, Ryan Hickey. The day after our family Thanksgiving
dinner, Ryan was in a serious single car accident. His pickup plunged off an embankment and crashed into a large tree.

Without his seatbelt secured, he was tossed like a rag doll inside the cab of his truck, sustaining a traumatic brain injury. Life-flighted to a trauma hospital, our family held vigil daily for the next month.

To deal with the heartache, and to help keep extended family informed, I wrote a dairy of God’s grace and subsequent blessings throughout the ordeal. This story, in shortened form, is told in Opening the Gifts of Christmas.
